The story of
David Arieti
David Arieti is an environmental activist and educator who has been involved in environmental issues for nearly 40 years. He has studied marine science and worked on various environmental projects, including researching the effects of chlorine oxidants on the Chesapeake Bay and studying the fish in the Hudson River.
In addition to his environmental work, Arieti teaches Environmental Science and Biology at Oakton and various other colleges and has received three Best Teacher-of-the-Year awards. He has written a book titled “The Earth is My Patient” in which he lists the causes and effects of environmental pollution and its possible solutions. Arieti’s latest book Prognosis Disaster, Second Edition, which he co-authored with Jacob Nievi, an anatomy lecturer at Oakton, tackles the consequences of humankind’s path toward extinction and suggests solutions that involve terminating the use of fossil fuels, controlling overpopulation, investing in solar power, and discovering a more effective economic system.
